Chubb is currently seeking a Property SIU Investigator to join our team working in Florida and the Southeast. This position can be located in either Miami, Tampa or Orlando. This individual will work to build relationships with insureds, claims staff, defense counsel, agents and brokers in the Southeast Region.
The Property SIU Investigator is responsible for investigating first party property claims of a questionable nature including potential arson or other fraud related concerns. Position will be responsible for the efficient and consistent delivery of service to our customers and business partners that meets or exceeds Chubb's standards and complies with all applicable statutes and regulations. The SIU Investigator will be expected to develop highly detailed background information and conduct comprehensive investigations on these questionable claim scenarios that will lead to a coverage determination arising out of first party property claim submissions. The SIU Investigator will also be expected to interact and communicate with various claims and underwriting partners as well as legal counsel, local, state and federal law enforcement, and other regulatory agencies.
COMPETENCIES/TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Candidates should possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an SIU investigator, or as a law enforcement investigator with experience as a detective, as an investigator with Army CID or other similar law enforcement agency. Candidates must have knowledge of insurance contracts, investigative techniques, legal requirements, and state insurance regulations. Candidates should also be familiar with insurance fraud statutes, and must have the ability to work with and communicate with a wide spectrum of people, develop and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external customers. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel is needed. Utilize tools such as ISO, Accurint, and TLO to obtain background information on all individual parties and businesses involved in a claim.
The candidate must be detail oriented, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be customer service oriented and possess an understanding of Personal and Commercial lines insurance contracts. Excellent time management skills is critical to this position.
