What You’ll Be Doing
As our Fraud Specialist, you’ll be the guardian of member accounts and transactions — the one who spots something fishy before it turns into something serious. Think of yourself as the “Fraud Whisperer,” interpreting subtle clues, stopping theft in its tracks, and keeping our members safe.
You will:
- Investigate suspicious activity across accounts, cards, wires, ACH, and online banking
- Detect and track fraudulent or high-risk transactions like a digital Sherlock
- Set up fraud files, summarize losses, and document findings like a pro
- Work with members, vendors, and internal teams with tact and professionalism
- Recommend better fraud detection tools and processes (yes, we value your ideas!)
- Assist with recovery efforts when fraud does occur — we never back down from a challenge
- Stay cool under pressure and thrive in a team that treats each other like family (but with fewer sibling rivalries)
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 1–3 years of experience in fraud detection, financial investigations, or a related field
- Solid critical thinking and analytical chops
- Comfortable having sensitive conversations — you know how to be firm but kind
- Bonus points if you're a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or have a similar credential
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and love a good mystery
- Strong communication skills and a drive to protect people from fraudsters
- Fluent in spreadsheets, reports, and the occasional tech troubleshooting
- You love lists, follow policies, and know when to dig deeper
